What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, without error in the original writings, eternal, unchangeable, verbally inspired, supreme, authoritative, authentic, and infallible.
2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 3:16,17
The Godhead
We believe in one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having precisely the same attributes and perfections.
Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 5:7; 1 Corinthians 8:6
The Depravity of Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell from this sinless position, inherited a sin nature and consequent alienation from God incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death which is separation from God.
Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 5:12; 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3
The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man: that He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice; that our redemption is made certain to us by His literal and physical resurrection from the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:3-6
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for the Church and His subsequent premillennial return to earth to set up His kingdom.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended and is now in heaven exalted at the right hand of God where as the High Priest for believers He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1,2; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 9:24; 7:25; Acts 1:9-11
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, regenerates, enlightens, and indwells all believers in the present age, baptizes all believers into the body of Christ, seals all believers unto the day of redemption, guides the believer into all truth and that it is a command to every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
John 14:16,17; 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13,14; 5:18
Salvation
We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is the gift of God brought to man by grace and is received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.
Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12; Romans 8:1, John 5:24
We believe that all that are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ forever.
John 10:27-30; Romans 8:38,39
The Church
We believe the Church, which is the body and bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this age irrespective of their affiliation with Christian organizations.
1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:22,23; 5:25-27
The Personality of Satan
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan, who is the open and declared enemy of God and man.
Job 1:6,7; Matthew 4:1-11; Revelation 12:9; 1 Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:11,12
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the personal coming of the Lord Jesus in the air to receive to Himself the dead in Christ and the believers who are in Christ and the believers who are alive at His coming.
1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18
We believe that all believers who have this hope will seek to live a godly life.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57; 1 John 3:1-3
The Eternal State
We believe the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in the Glory; but the soul of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the millennium, when soul and body are reunited, shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.
Philippians 1:23; Luke 16:19-26; Revelation 20:11-15; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Responsibility of Believers
We believe that all believers should seek to walk in such a manner as to not bring reproach upon their Lord and Savior and that separation from worldly pleasures and practices is commanded of God.
Romans 12:1,2; 14:13; 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1
We believe that it is the obligation of every believer to witness by life and by word to the truths of the Holy Scriptures and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all the world.
Acts 1:8
We believe that it is the responsibility of all believers to remember the work of the Lord in prayer and to support it with their means as the Lord has prospered them.
1 Corinthians 16:2
The Church Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus instituted two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper; to be observed until His return.
Matthew 28:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
